You can also create some very vocal sounds by using the LFO to control both filters and fine tuning the resonance, intensity and master frequency. It has three universal controls: a master Frequency control that governs the center frequency of both filters. Adjust the intensity of one filter to taste and use an expression pedal to sweep the second to create some awesome moving center point phase effects. There are expression pedal jacks for both the master Frequency and the LFO rate. You can set the intensity of both filters to zero and use the Frequency to manually create wide filter sweeps or use an expression pedal for a unique wah tones. It has three universal controls: a master Frequency control, a master Rate and the Direct control for blending in the unaffected dry signal and two expression. With all of this control, the Interstellar Orbiter is a knob twiddler’s dream with loads of possibilities! It can do everything from wah emulation to complex vocal formant filter and even a fairly convincing rotary speaker effect. The mix control adjusts the volume for the mix of each filter. The resonance becomes more “ringy” as you dial it up and more mellow as you dial it back. When the LFO Intensity is raised the filter sweep is wider, the center frequency is raised and the resonance becomes more pronounced. Q3 and Q4 provide similar control for the LFO modulation. The Frequency pot wiper ought to provide enough voltage for transistor bases so Id check what you get for the full sweep of that pot. Each filter is voiced differently and has controls for LFO intensity, resonance and mix. Of the transistors, Q1 & Q2 set the filter centre frequency according to the control voltage from the Frequency pot (this can be an expression pedal). The LFO sweeps each filter in opposite directions and has a wide range. Adjust the intensity of one filter to taste and use an expression pedal to sweep the second to create some awesome moving center point phase effects. There are expression pedal jacks for both the master Frequency and the LFO rate. You're canadian but it comes out to $400.It has three universal controls: a master Frequency control that governs the center frequency of both filters, a master Rate control for the LFO and the Direct control for blending in the unaffected dry signal. Since I'm Canadian it would also take me one step close to an all Canadian board with Dr Scientist, Fairfield, and Union Tube. With the exchange rate it's about $400 so being a bit cautious on that but it seems like the best reverb going. Rm-1n is one of the most useful pedals I've played.Īwesome, thanks for the feedback! I've also checked out the thread on the RM-1N and it seems to check all the boxes for me. The LFO sweeps each filter in opposite directions and has a wide range. Interstellar Orbiter is vast get ready to get free. The kickdisk is way less graceful than an expression pedal but it gets the job done. There are expression pedal jacks for both the master Frequency and the LFO rate. The tricky part is they have different ideal pot values: 100K linear for Frequency and 1M reverse-log for Rate. I love laying down some pads with that and then using my foot to drop the depth down and play riffs over it. The wah has (obviously) two jack holes, and the Interstellar Orbiter has two expression jacks (Frequency and Rate) so Im intrigued at the possibility of building an expression pedal that can control either/both parameters. Depth at max is a huge wave of fuzzy reverb that swallows all your notes and spits out dreamy soundscapes. It makes everything sound so huge even with the depth all the way down. With the ability to manually create sweeping filter effects or use an expression pedal for dynamic wah tones, the Interstellar Orbiter puts you in control of your sound. I keep the mix at noon and just enough pre and post gain to give it just a little hair. You can set the intensity of both filters to zero and use the Frequency to manually create wide filter sweeps or use an expression pedal for a unique wah tones.
